Reflection 2

Auteurs differentiate themselves from other theories, as mentioned previously they show the film in their own perspective. Unlike genre, auteurs are not repetitive, they do not follow the same code and conventions of a genre film. I believe there is certain amount of freedom when it comes to be an auteur; but at same time they also have to maintain a similarity to the movies they have done before. That’s where their signature moves comes in.

And for this blog I came across one of the famous mainstream Hollywood auteur “Quentin Tarantino”. According to various video essays and reviews that say, that ‘Tarantino has copied most of the elements from other directors and therefore not to be included as one of the auteurs’. But like any other pro- Tarantino, I would argue that, successful directors and filmmakers are people who are inspired by other successful people.

What inspires me the most the way he doesn’t abides by the codes and convention of film making; but at the same time giving homage to different cultures and genres. Just like a DJ mixing various things and coming up with a piece of art. I would go on to describe his works; but it will be long and you will be bored. To be continued……..
